Carle Place Water District Announces Water Rate Adjustment Effective February 1

Carle Place Water District Announces Water Rate Adjustment Effective February 1

The Carle Place Water District (CPWD) will implement a water rate adjustment beginning February 1, 2026.  Since 2017 there have not been any rate increases.  As outlined in the District’s most recent Annual Drinking Water Quality Report, your tap water met all Federal and State drinking water health standards.  We are proud to report our system did not violate a maximum contaminant level or any other water quality standard.

Over time, the cost of operating and maintaining a public water system has increased significantly. To ensure that CPWD can continue to properly maintain its facilities, treat water to meet evolving water quality standards, and prepare for future infrastructure needs, a rate adjustment is now necessary.

CPWD has worked diligently to manage costs and minimize impacts to customers. In recent years, the District successfully secured grant funding to upgrade and modernize its facilities, helping to offset project costs and delay the need for a rate increase. However, much of that grant funding is no longer available, and future investments will need to be supported locally to ensure the continued reliability of the water system.

Beginning in February, rate cards will be included with water bills to clearly outline the updated rates. Because CPWD bills customers by sections, rate cards will be distributed between February and June, ensuring all customers receive the information with their billing cycle.

The Carle Place Water District remains committed to transparency and encourages customers to review the rate information and FAQs available on this website. Additional information will also be included in the District’s upcoming spring newsletter.
